A post-LeBron James reconstruct was always inevitable in Northeast Ohio, and the Cavs have obviously accepted that destiny. Through four in-season trades, they restocked their cupboards with nine incoming draft picks, including a set of future firsts.
But before heading reclamation road down, Cleveland gave a four-year, $120 million expansion to oft-injured, 30-year-old Kevin Love. That rate not only looks inflated given his health history and deficiencies that are defensive, but it might also lead the Cavs to a couple of wins. He’s still capable of rebounding at an rate.
In case the idea was to lean on the leadership then reverse him for more rebuilding tools of Love, the strategy was doomed from the start.
“You’re not getting an advantage for him under any circumstances,” a Western Conference executive advised Bleacher Report’s Ken Berger earlier this year.
Speaking of assets, the collection underwhelms from every angle. Collin Sexton is interesting, however his 41.1 field-goal percentage and 15.6 assist percentage emphasize his limitations. Cedi Osman functions as a complementary bit, but likely nothing more. In other words, the Cavs may be at least from forming their base that is second a few drafts.

Brad Keselowski made his third consecutive win Sunday in the opening playoff race in Las Vegas Motor Speedway, but a fourth straight win appears unlikely as NASCAR heads to Richmond’s short track for Saturday night’s Federated Auto Parts 400.

Richmond is a flat, 3/4-mile track that is most like New Hampshire’s and Phoenix’s apartment monitors. Drivers who have had success have been contenders in Richmond.

Phoenix and New Hampshire was seen by NASCAR after each sooner. In the desert, Kevin Harvick took the checkers, but Kyle Busch led the most laps. Harvick also won New Hampshire, but it was Kurt Busch leading the most laps.
